The GlobalGeology website was developed by C.R. Scotese as place to store information about the geology of the world. It was inspired by Wikipedia and Google Earth.
The goal of the Global Geology Project is to assemble a 4-dimensional geological database (latitude, longitude, depth & time) that describes rock outcrops and subsurface stratigraphic data.
The Global Geology website is physically located in Dallas, Texas.
